Senior Advisor, Financial Risk Management Department

The Role:

We are currently looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Financial Risk Management team in Nicosia. The successful candidate as part of the existing advisory team of the Financial Risk Management Department will provide a wide range of advisory services to the Financial Services industry (e.g. Banking, Investment Firms and Insurance) including the following:
  • Credit risk modelling
  • Financial Instruments valuation
  • Basel III and risk management
  • Technical accounting support on accounting and regulatory change projects such as IFRS 9 Financial Instruments, FINREP and Pillar 3;
  • Accounting advisory with respect to business structuring
  • AML and regulatory compliance
  • MiFID

The Responsibilities:

The job holder will be required either to take responsibility for areas of accounting change, credit risk management, and credit risk modelling as part of a larger - possibly multi-disciplinary - engagement team or to manage small teams carrying out risk engagements. Apart from project delivery responsibilities, support will be given for other aspects of the team's work including sales and marketing, research and development and knowledge management.

The Individual:

  • University Degree with grade 2:1 (or equivalent) of any discipline. Mathematics or Actuarial Degree or other quantitative background or Law and compliance background will be considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in the Financial Services sector or in the Banking industry or in an advisory or audit firm.
  • Prior experience in a Compliance function within the Financial Services sector and/or
  • Possession of professional accounting or other banking qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CFA) or knowledge of BASEL II will be considered as an advantage.
  • Knowledge of BASEL III and / or MiFID and / or AML will be considered as an advantage.
  • Quantitative experience from a trading environment (pricing models for derivatives, energy commodities etc.) will also be seen favourably.
  • Flexibility and desire to work on demanding and challenging projects, and interact with team-members from other business groups.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, professional discipline, accuracy and reliability.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational, project management and evaluative skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • Strong supervisory and coaching skills.
  • Professionalism, self-motivation, career orientation, enthusiasm, team working spirit.
